SWFL Eye - Ophthalmic Assistant

Southwest Florida Eye Care is a tri-ophthalmic practice providing eye care through the expertise, experience, dedication, honesty and caring of its ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, technicians and other support personnel. We are seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant with a strong work ethic and desire to have a long-term career with a successful optometric team. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient work-up, visual acuity, refracting, visual fields, OCT, tonometry, and contact lens insertion and removal.
Requirements
- Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer service focus
- High school or equivalent education
Nice To Haves
- CPOA or COA certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform optometric pretesting including, but not limited to, visual acuity, auto-refraction, manual refraction, tonometry, topography, OCT, visual field, manual lensometry.
- Record chief complaint, medications, and medical history.
- Assist patients with contact lens insertion, removal, and care compliance training.
- Assist and provide patients with excellent customer service and any necessary information regarding treatment.
