About The Position

The Ophthalmic Photographer-Certified is responsible for capturing high-quality diagnostic images of the eye using specialized ophthalmic imaging equipment and supporting ophthalmologists and optometrists in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in ophthalmic photography or related field.
  • Proficiency in using ophthalmic imaging equipment and software.
  • Strong understanding of ocular anatomy and pathology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Fluent English

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) BLS within 1 Year

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of ophthalmic imaging procedures including fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), slit-lamp photography, and external eye imaging.
  • Ensure proper patient positioning and comfort during imaging procedures.
  • Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to determine appropriate imaging protocols.
  • Accurately label, store, and manage digital images in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Adhere to HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
  • Stay current with advances in ophthalmic imaging technology and techniques.
  • Assist in training staff or students in ophthalmic imaging procedures.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
