Ophthalmic Assistant
About The Position
UW Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to join its nationally recognized Eye Care Team. The role performs visual testing in preventative and specialty eye care, helps create a safe and comforting atmosphere for patients of all ages, and works in a fast-paced team environment. This is a full-time, 100% FTE, day-shift position scheduled Monday through Friday, with no weekends required. Hours may vary according to departmental operational needs. The position may be eligible for a $3,000 sign-on bonus, prorated based on FTE. UW Health Clinics provide primary and specialty care across more than 90 clinics in Dane County and surrounding areas, with a focus on high-quality, compassionate care and an exceptional patient and family experience.
Requirements
- Six months of customer service experience.
- Obtain COA, COT, CPOT, or CPOA certification within 1.5 years.
- Obtain CPR certification within 90 days.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Ophthalmic/Optometric program, Certified Medical Assistant program, or Licensed Practical Nurse program.
- One year of experience as a Certified Ophthalmic/Optometric Assistant or Technician, Certified Medical Assistant, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
- If an LPN, licensure in the state of employment.
- If an MA, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
