This is a 1.0 FTE position (80 hours per two-week pay period) with 8-hour Day/Evening shifts and no weekends. The role involves a 20-mile floating radius and is eligible for mileage reimbursement. The Eagan Clinic has two shift options: Shift 1 runs Monday through Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Shift 2 runs Monday through Thursday from 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM and Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED
• 0 to 2 years of Ophthalmic experience
• 0 to 2 years Knowledge of complete eye exam tests and procedures

Responsibilities

• Performs patient preparation, assessment and eye exam
• Collects vital signs, medication reconciliation, allergies and chief complaint.
• Collects patient and family history and ocular history.
• Performs preliminary testing and basic exam.
• Documents in the electronic medical record.
• Opens and closes patient rooms.
• Provides patient contact lens insertion/removal training.
• Schedules surgery as well as peri-operative and post-operative visits.
• Conducts patient education including videos for surgical procedures.
• Answers and follows up on calls from patients and suppliers.
• Orders and maintains ophthalmic supplies, medications and diagnostic contact lens inventory.
• Cleans and sterilizes equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
