About The Position
Duke Health Integrated Practice is seeking a Ophthalmic Assistant, Certified to join their team at the Eye Center Mebane. This role involves assisting physicians and technical support personnel in performing diagnostic tests for patient eye problems. The position offers a $5000 commitment bonus for qualifying candidates.
Requirements
- Work requires an education background generally equivalent to a high school education.
- Work requires 1 year of directly related experience in Ophthalmology or Optometry; OR, graduation from an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program.
- Work requires certification as a certified Ophthalmic Assistant by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO).
- Must have BLS Certification
Responsibilities
- Participates in the delivery of patient care in an effective manner.
- Performs stocking and maintenance functions.
- Performs various clerical functions.
- Demonstrates a positive, concerned and sensitive response in the work place.
- Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriate assistance or educational offerings.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
