About The Position

Forte Opening Solutions is seeking an Operator to support daily operations throughout its door manufacturing process. The role involves handling doors and raw materials, assembling and crafting products, and moving doors through the manufacturing process. Operators work cooperatively and regularly rotate among positions to support production needs. The listed pay is $21.00 per hour plus a $2.00-per-hour shift premium.

Requirements

• Preferably one year of experience in a manufacturing setting.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
• Able to use a computer to read order specifications, update databases, and retrieve or update data.
• Able to take accurate measurements using a tape measure and calipers.
• Able to use hand tools and power tools, drive fork trucks, and use push carts safely and efficiently.
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds and occasionally push or pull 100 pounds; able to sit, kneel, and stoop.
• Able to add and subtract fractions and whole numbers and convert fractions to decimals.
• Able to read, follow, and understand written and verbal work instructions; basic writing skills.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Commitment to team members, self-motivation, and accountability for safety and quality.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a safe work environment by following safety rules and procedures, asking questions when unsure, and embracing the Target Zero philosophy.
• Read and follow production schedules to ensure the right product is manufactured at the right time and place.
• Follow production job orders and schematics, adjust or set equipment parameters, and ensure applicable parameters are achieved.
• Gather materials according to production schedules to support a continuous and efficient manufacturing process.
• Perform quality checks throughout production to ensure manufacturing specifications are met.
• Communicate professionally and effectively to support product flow through the plant.
• Maintain downtime records and production information as appropriate.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Load and unload doors or raw materials, assemble and craft products, and move doors through the manufacturing process.
• Rotate among positions as needed to support production.
