About The Position

Wabtec is seeking an Operator to join their Thermal Transfer Group business unit. This role involves fabricating and assembling a wide variety of products by following specified work instructions and engineering drawings. The Operator will be responsible for the quality of their work, meeting production standards, and prioritizing safety. This position is based in Duquesne, PA, and reports directly to the Shop Supervisor. The Operator will work with a diverse team of professionals, including other Assemblers, Operators, and Welders, and will partner with individuals across multiple departments.

Requirements

Must be a team player.
Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be able to read and correctly interpret blueprints.
Must be able to maintain attendance as defined by the company policy.
High School Diploma or related equivalent required.
Employees are always required to wear all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the facility including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs.
The position requires the employee to be on-site during scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

Trade school certificate or related equivalent preferred.
Combination of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Follow specified work instructions and/or engineering parts drawings to fabricate/assemble a wide variety of products.
Be responsible for the quality of your work, and meeting production standards.
Continually look for ways to improve production processes.
Make Safety your #1 priority every day.
Interpret fabrication plans and build products according to plans.
Use all company owned methods of operating machinery, i.e., forklifts/trucks, jib cranes, overhead cranes, etc., and must be willing to train and adapt to new systems.
Maintain time records and job records as described by supervisor.
Ensure work area is kept in a neat and orderly manner.
Use fabrication machinery such as Presses, Rolls, Shears, and other moving machinery.
Use hand tools such as grinders, sanders, etc.
May install insulation on manufactured products.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Follow and adheres to all safety rules and topics.
Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
