About The Position

Jaxon Engineering is looking for a full-time, in-office, Operator to join our fabrication team in Colorado Springs, CO. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute, lead, and own complex and mission-critical projects in a highly specialized field. Successful candidates must have a strong work ethic and have the ability to travel as necessary. They must be able to do strenuous physical labor, be reliable and work well with others in a safe and effective manner. Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a DoD Secret and/or Top-Secret security clearance. Salary: $18-22 per hour (40 hours/ week guaranteed) - plus significant OT and per diems when traveling This position requires the ability to travel as necessary.

Requirements

  • Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances.
  • Willingness to learn the basics of HEMP, fabrication, electrical basics, and operator duties
  • Self-motivated and well organized with good English communication skills
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment
  • Commitment to workplace safety
  • Able to bend over, kneel and crouch for long periods of time
  • Able to use grinders, chop saws, drills, plasma cutters and both scissor-lift & variable-reach forklifts
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs. regularly throughout the day
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret and/or Top-Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a shop, construction, or Operator/Machinist role preferred (but willing to train the right candidate)

Responsibilities

  • Performs simple to complex set-up and operation of machinery and assist with machinist operations and equipment surveillance i.e. Mill, Saw, Press Brake, Water Jet
  • Perform basic tasks including cutting, grinding, drilling, and cleaning/prepping materials
  • Processes all paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE
  • Support the team with other duties as assigned
