About The Position

BB Energy is seeking an Operator for their Houston office to coordinate and monitor operations processes from trade inception to completion. This role involves managing various aspects of energy trading operations, ensuring compliance, and facilitating smooth execution of contracts and logistics.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or higher degree in Business
5+ years of Product Operations experience
Fluent in English
Working knowledge of Spanish
Clear understanding of operations processes and documentation including key areas of Risk and Risk mitigation
Thorough knowledge of the global trade business
Proficient in using computer applications and software
Able to network and develop key relationships
Observant and resourceful
Methodical and detail orientated
Detailed and results oriented with a commercial mindset

Responsibilities

Check purchase/sale contracts and amendments
Follow up on compliance requirements
Work to strict deadlines
Coordinate loading/discharge of sea-going vessels, barges, counterparties and terminals
Follow up on min/max loadable quantities within restrictions (draft, contract)
Provide clear and detailed instructions, always consistent with contracts and LCs
Receive and understand all information on the Financing side of the business (issuing bank, advising bank, L/Cs, open account etc.)
Follow up on inspection process
Coordinate and monitor STS operations
Day to day follow up on contracts and deliveries
Issue Nominations/Instructions to vessel shipbrokers, counterparties, inspectors etc
Coordinate issuance of insurance certificates where applicable
Responsibility for documents (LOIs, B/Ls, CoQ’s etc)
Handle invoicing and monitoring of accounts (proformas, credit notes, debit notes)
Present documents to the bank via finance
Check all invoices received ensuring correctness
Act as the main point of contact for any troubleshooting
