About The Position

This position is for an Operator - V at B2Gold's operations in Nunavut, Canada. The role involves the safe and efficient operation of mining vehicles for material transportation, adhering to strict safety protocols and environmental conditions. The position is based on a fly-in, fly-out 3x3 rotation.

Requirements

• Prior experience operating heavy equipment, including light vehicles with 24' trailers, haul trucks, wiggle wagons, or related equipment in construction or mining environment.
• Completion of Grade 10 with demonstrated capacity for numeracy, writing, reading and communication at that level.
• Valid unrestricted Class 5 driver license preferred; Heavy Equipment Operator ticket.
• Prior experience working in a remote setting with limited access to resources.
• Working rights in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Safe and efficient operation of mining vehicles in the transportation of materials to meet targets.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip walk around safety inspections of equipment and report any deficiencies to the Supervisor.
• Log maintenance or concerns while operating equipment, and discontinue use if maintenance issue impact safe working operation.
• Communicate effectively with team members via two-way radios, hand signals, and other required forms of communication.
• Participate in daily safety toolbox meetings to promote compliance to B2Gold Nunavut's safety policies and procedures.
• Operate in all types of weather, including rain, fog, and winter conditions.
• Assist in civil earthworks and construction responsibilities when required and assigned.
