Operator, Slitting - 2nd Shift
About The Position
The Operator, Slitting supports manufacturing operations by setting up and running production equipment, inspecting products and monitoring equipment and processes. The role includes preparing and cleaning manufacturing rooms and equipment, maintaining orderly work areas, ensuring products are labeled and stored correctly, and documenting production activity. The Operator may help train new personnel, perform equipment calibrations as instructed, and coordinate other Operators’ work or serve as a backup to the Senior Operator when directed by a supervisor or manager. This position works 2nd Shift and is eligible for a 15% shift differential.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- At least two years of experience; a combination of experience and/or education will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Visually inspect products during operation and observe equipment and processes for proper operation.
- Seek maintenance assistance when problems arise and recommend improvements.
- Assist with setting up and running production equipment.
- Prepare and clean manufacturing rooms and equipment for inspection as required, and keep the work area clean and orderly.
- Ensure products are properly labeled and stored.
- Document material runs using Batch Production Records, In-Process Sheets, Log Books, and Time Sheets.
- Assist in training new personnel in manufacturing operations as directed by a supervisor or manager.
- Perform calibration on scales, line meters, coating ovens, micrometers, and other equipment as instructed.
- Coordinate the work of other Operators and act as a backup to the Senior Operator as directed by a supervisor or manager.
