About The Position

The Operator, Slitting supports production operations by setting up and running production equipment, inspecting product and equipment during operation, and maintaining clean and orderly manufacturing rooms and work areas. The role documents material runs and product information, performs equipment calibration as instructed, and helps train and coordinate other Operators as directed by a supervisor or manager. This position works 2nd Shift and is eligible for a 15% shift differential.

Requirements

High school diploma.
At least two years of experience; a combination of experience and/or education will be considered.

Responsibilities

Visually inspect product during operation and observe equipment and processes for proper operation; seek maintenance assistance for problems and recommend improvements.
Assist with the setup and operation of production equipment.
Prepare and clean manufacturing rooms and equipment for inspection as required, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Ensure products are properly labeled and stored.
Document material runs using Batch Production Records, In-Process Sheets, Log Books, and Time Sheets.
Assist in training new personnel in manufacturing operations as directed by a supervisor or manager.
Perform calibration on scales, line meters, coating ovens, micrometers, and other equipment as instructed.
Coordinate the work of other Operators and act as a backup to the Senior Operator as directed by a supervisor or manager.
