About The Position

Under the supervision of the Area Manager, this role is responsible for the proper training and safe, timely, and efficient operation of the Presses.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Experience as a production associate.
  • Must watch all Press Operator training video series and pass Press Operators Training Class.
  • Must have die set training.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps work area clean, neat, and orderly with good housekeeping techniques.
  • Produces quality parts that meet all customer requirements.
  • Performs all required set up functions.
  • Participates in process improvement teams working with prog parts.
  • Follows operator instruction sheets as specified, unless otherwise instructed by a supervisor.
  • Adheres to all safety regulations and reports any safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Reports all mishits to the supervisor.
  • Notifies the supervisor at the halfway point of the last coil of the run for a last piece inspection before the coil is run out.
  • Completes all paperwork accurately, including tags, uptime reports, set up checklists, and production reports.
  • Ensures that last piece samples have been submitted before starting to die set the next order.
  • Ensures that all containers are clean of old tags, cardboard, and other parts before they are used.
  • Verifies the proper use of standard packs when they are set up for work orders.
  • Trains new associates to run the progs as directed by the supervisor.
  • Studies SPC charts to help identify process problems.
  • Follows the "first-in, first-out" system of using raw materials.
  • Performs other essential functions as assigned.
