Requirements

Ability to read and write.
Ability to climb stairs and silos.
Ability to stand for the entire shift.

Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment.
Knowledge of mechanical rendering and/or process equipment.
Good mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills.
Skilled in general mechanics and safe operation of equipment.
Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations.

Responsibilities

General plant labor including housekeeping tasks such as hosing down floors, mopping, sweeping, and emptying trash.
Shoveling and cleaning up spills within the plant.
Ensuring barrels are emptied of trash and product.
Cleaning equipment thoroughly.
Assisting with unstopping screw conveyors.
Cutting plastic and product off of screw conveyors.
Keeping floor drains cleaned out and ensuring covers are on drains.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Overseeing the rendering process from the raw material bin to finished goods storage.
