Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately.
  • Ability to operate and become certified as an operator of motorized material handling equipment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, stooping, walking, standing, and climbing.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Normal eyesight (natural or corrected).
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. (some postings note occasional lifting in excess of 60 lbs.).
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Must meet DEA background requirements per CVS policy (applicable at Rx-handling DCs).

Responsibilities

  • Perform various duties to check orders and load store merchandise onto trailers, and remove and palletize store returns, empty trays, and other materials from returning trailers.
  • Prepare trailer for loading; receive wave sheet indicating loading sequence and expected store cube.
  • Obtain all merchandise delivered at the trailer and stack into stable loads.
  • Verify product counts and inspect items for damage before loading.
  • Receive RX sheets for daily store deliveries and verify RX tote quantities against actual quantity received.
  • Load merchandise onto trailer manually — stacking/packing securely to minimize imbalance, movement, and damage in transit (heavy cases on lower level, lighter cases on upper level).
  • Work both palletized and fluid (floor-loaded) lanes; load Non-Con (non-conveyable) products.
  • Secure loads using straps, shrink wrap, boards, or load bars between store orders and at the end of the load.
  • Separate store orders as required and close trailer at load completion; lock trailer doors, secure with a red lock, and give the seal number to the Lead.
  • Remove and palletize store returns, empty trays, and other materials from returning trailers.
  • Operate manual or powered material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts) as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized loading area; follow all safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • Assist other departments/general warehouse duties as directed.
