The Operator III is responsible for prepping machines for shift start up and/or product change; operating auxiliary equipment in order to produce various types and sizes of manufactured products while ensuring quality and production goals are met; performing troubleshooting on equipment as needed. This role requires proficiency in all operator 1 & 2 job description requirements, monitoring and performing the operations of processing equipment with minimal supervision, and assisting higher-level operators. The Operator III will use measuring equipment to ensure quality specifications are met, assist in training lower-level operators, and operate material handling and processing equipment for production and replenishment of raw materials. They will utilize the shop floor management system, spot equipment malfunctions, assist with repairs, and communicate with technicians for equipment and root cause analysis. Basic preventative maintenance on equipment is also a responsibility. Additionally, the Operator III will visually check workstations for low supplies, pull supplies from designated areas, transport materials using material handling equipment, and notify supervisors of reorder levels. They must be proficient in identifying raw material types and part numbers, and communicate any shortages. Quality and testing involve inspecting produced products, reporting out-of-specification items, performing non-conforming product procedures, isolating/reworking non-conforming items, inputting accurate data into the quality control system, and identifying raw materials that do not meet quality requirements. Other duties include 6S activities, workshops, meetings, and cross-functional training. The role may require working different shifts and wearing assorted PPE.
