About The Position

At Alcon, the Operator II supports warehouse shipping and receiving at the Johns Creek Distribution Center in Johns Creek, Georgia. The role involves gathering, verifying, and packing items for shipment according to specifications and the applicable transportation method, as well as recording received and shipped items. The operator may use hand trucks, other devices, and computers to perform manual and clerical duties. The role rotates monthly among areas within the department and may lead a small group of individuals. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week on the second shift, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM Eastern Time. Some weekends are required. Travel is 0%; sponsorship and relocation are not available.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
Able to work 40 hours per week on the second shift, Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM Eastern Time; some weekends are required.

Nice To Haves

Basic computer experience.
Prior leadership experience.
RF scanner experience.

Responsibilities

Perform manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties.
Receive incoming materials or prepare materials for shipment.
Gather, verify, and pack items according to specifications and the applicable transportation method.
Verify the quantity, weight, and conformance of materials.
Prepare records of materials shipped and record received and shipped items.
Route materials to destinations.
Use a hand truck and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data, as needed.
Lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard crates and boxes, as needed.
Rotate monthly among areas within the department.
Lead a small group of individuals.
Communicate with others by email and face to face, provide work direction, and deliver training.
