Requirements

  • Knowledge in the use and handling of tools, equipment, and machinery such as extrusion machines and peripheral equipment, and computers.
  • Use of calipers, rulers, micrometers, pressure gauges, scales, mechanical tools, 'On line control' unit, Laser mike, Data Myte.
  • Good communication, ability to read and interpret English.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (Diploma).
  • One year of experience in programmable controllers, extrusion process (preferred), inspection and disposition of materials (TIQ).

Responsibilities

  • Mount dies, fine-tune, make adjustments, and start up the extrusion machine to produce tubes following established specifications and procedures. Control its operation within predetermined and/or validated operating parameters.
  • Perform tests to verify speeds, wall thickness, texture, and inner diameter of the tube using manual measuring instruments or computerized electronic equipment (On Line Control, Laser mike).
  • Perform water chlorination tests for cooling tubes to determine quality and parts per million of chlorine.
  • Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance tasks such as cleaning, greasing, and lubricating the machine.
  • Adjust or replace simple parts to keep machinery in optimal operating condition.
  • Package the produced tubes by covering them with plastic and placing them in boxes.
  • Inspect and document material according to plant procedures.
  • Feed the machine with the necessary mixture for production and reprocess scrap and mix with virgin material (if applicable).
  • Observe automatic controllers to ensure the process occurs within established and/or validated parameters, perform general maintenance, and make necessary minor mechanical adjustments.
  • Fill out documentation on machine operational parameters, including die size used, and verify they correspond to the established specifications for each tube code.
  • Identify and take action when deviations in process parameters occur or any incident that affects product quality.
  • Use general mechanical hand tools to perform minor adjustments to machinery.
  • Responsible for maintaining and securing the tools provided.
  • Prepare reports on production, downtime, and scrap, pre-run checkouts, checker charts, etc.
  • Approved training in T.I.Q. to perform visual and dimensional tests on tubes and to disposition product based on obtained results.
  • Perform sampling according to Procedures and Specifications.
  • Transport raw material and extruded product to and from the warehouse area.
  • Document required information by specifications and procedures manually (e.g., Checker Chart) and/or electronically (e.g., in POMS modules as applicable). This includes, but is not limited to, parameters, batches, productions, and others.
  • Comply at all times with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), company rules, and EHS regulations.
  • Identify EHS-related opportunities to generate I Care Cards.
  • Maintain the work area clean, organized, and free of risks.
  • These tasks and responsibilities are not limited to the above.
