About The Position

The Operator I operates and maintains sludge, de-watering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in a refinery/industrial facility to meet customer specifications under direct supervision. This role is designed for individuals with no prior specific experience who will start employment as an Operator I and advance in progression as they acquire new skills and demonstrate competency. Employees may test for competency of Operator II no sooner than thirty (30) days following their most recent competency demonstration, but must complete the required training for Operator II to achieve the next level.

Responsibilities

Consistently demonstrate the ability to learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets.
Demonstrate ability to learn and independently operate equipment such as pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
Work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Keep the work area neat and clean.
Collect liquid and solid samples and perform routine sampling testing.
Log and Record process readings.
Perform unit rounds.
Assist in facility equipment preventative maintenance.
Assist in general maintenance of facility equipment.
