About The Position

Under the direction of the Department Supervisor, this role oversees and ensures the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance, customer specifications, and delivery requirements, in accordance with EverTec policies and procedures. The Operator I must have the technical ability to operate all types of converting lines and finishing equipment within Pregis standards for waste, quality, and productivity. They must understand and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures, set up and operate all special functions and capabilities with minimal supervision or direction, train other employees when requested or required, analyze issues, determine and implement solutions, and provide innovative/creative solutions for opportunities and improvements.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 5-7 years of progressive responsibility and/or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain consumables during machine production run times at established KPIs, including all adhesives, paper, and labels.
  • Understand the operation of Label applicators and hot melt systems.
  • Read and understand all information on job tickets pertaining to a specific job.
  • Ensure all necessary components to produce the job are present and do not move forward on any job with conflicting information.
  • Achieve print quality, register, and die cutting equipment to acceptable registration within specified M/R standards.
  • Operate all line ancillary equipment.
  • Set up and operate all inline equipment (i.e., gluing, labeling, die units etc.).
  • Set up fan fold unit to required specs with minimal supervision.
  • Install Flexo plates and set Flexo print cylinders for optimal print and manufacturing life.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.
  • Strive to maintain 100% of standard KPIs for productivity, waste, and quality standards.
  • Accurately enter all codes for quantities and consumed materials onto required paperwork.
  • Accurately track line counts.
  • Perform necessary functions to operate the line with minimal supervision.
  • Establish and promote an environment for learning and process improvement.
  • Consistently look for ways to improve processes and efficiencies to reduce waste and increase production within quality standards.
  • Work within all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Interact well between shifts to gain and pass along all information to facilitate a smooth transition without interruption.
