About The Position

The Operator I operates and maintains sludge, dewatering treatment, processing, disposal, and testing equipment at a refinery or industrial facility to purify water to customer specifications. The role requires learning and independently operating assigned equipment while meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets. The employee works in a team environment and may assume additional or new responsibilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend English-language operational, process, safety, and quality instructions.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
Must pass a drug test and criminal background check.
Must obtain a Grade 5 Wastewater License within 6 months.
Must obtain a Grade 6 Wastewater License within 12 months.
Ability to walk for as many as five miles per shift and meet the physical requirements of the role, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain sludge, dewatering treatment, processing, disposal, and testing equipment.
Learn and independently operate assigned machines and equipment to meet or exceed processing and quality targets.
Operate equipment such as pumps, engines, centrifuges, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed and odor control systems, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses, measuring and control devices, testing equipment, and material handling equipment.
Work effectively in a team environment and readily assume additional or new responsibilities.
Serve rotational 24-hour emergency on-call if required by the site.
