Under the direction of Dept Supervisor oversees and ensure the production of the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance, customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with EverTec policies and procedures. Must have the technical ability to operate all types of converting lines and finishing equipment within Pregis standards for waste, quality and productivity. Understands and adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures. Set up and operate all special functions and capabilities with minimal supervision or direction. Train other employees when requested or required to do so. Analyze issues, determine, and implement solutions. Provide innovative / creative solutions for opportunities and improvements.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 5-7 years of progressive responsibility and/or related experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain consumables during machine production run times at established KPI’s. This includes all adhesives, paper and labels.
  • Understand operation of Label applicators and hotmelt system.
  • Read and understand all information on job ticket pertaining to a specific job. Ensure that all necessary components to produce the job are present. Do not move forward on any job with conflicting information.
  • Fully understand how to achieve print quality, register, and die cutting equipment.
  • Achieve acceptable registration within specified M/R standards.
  • Operate all line ancillary equipment.
  • Effectively set up and operate all inline equipment (i.e., gluing, labeling, die units etc.).
  • Understand the basics of setting up fan fold unit to required specs with minimal supervision.
  • Install Flexo plates and set Flexo print cylinders for optimal print and manufacturing life.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.
  • Strive to maintain 100% of standard KPI for productivity, waste, and quality standards.
  • Accurately enter all codes for quantities, consumed materials onto required paperwork.
  • Accurately track line counts.
  • Perform necessary functions to operate the line with minimal supervision.
  • Establish and promote an environment for learning and process improvement.
  • Consistently look for ways to improve processes and efficiencies to reduce waste and increase production within quality standards set.
  • Work within all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Interact well between shifts to gain and pass along all information to facilitate a smooth transition without interruption.
