About The Position

At Alcon, the Operator I - Specialist supports manufacturing by handling tasks related to tools and equipment, performing quality inspections, and operating automated equipment. The role maintains production standards and efficiency through technical skills and adherence to procedures. The specialist performs machine setups and adjustments, resolves routine operating problems, verifies specifications, and evaluates product quality. This is an onsite role with a schedule of 36–48 hours per week, from 5:00 PM EST to 5:00 AM EST. The rotating schedule is two nights on, two nights off, and every other weekend. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Fluent ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English.

Machinist experience.
Technical background.
Experience using a CNC machine.

Responsibilities

Handle manual and operational tasks related to tools, equipment, and materials with minimal supervision.
Set up and adjust machines, including placing tooling, acquiring raw materials, and loading CNC turning centers.
Operate automated equipment and conduct optical tool inspections, assemblies, line clearances, mechanical checks, and changeovers.
Perform quality inspections using gauges and fixtures, and monitor quality statistically to ensure compliance with standards.
Lead and maintain product quality throughout manufacturing, diagnosing and resolving routine operating issues.
Read, understand, and verify product specifications and documentation.
Follow SOPs, GMPs, and GDPs; maintain accurate documentation and verify applicable records.
Meet individual job requirements and contribute to compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
