About The Position

This role involves various levels of operational responsibilities within packaging, from basic skill level positions to potentially leading a team. Associates must be able to demonstrate proficiency in their assigned tasks within a 90-day period. The job requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety policies, and ethical standards. Depending on the level, responsibilities can include operating specific packaging machinery, palletizing, training other employees, performing autonomous maintenance, and monitoring production activities.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to perform tasks listed in a 90-day period in that position.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate basic skill level position(s) (Packager).
  • Maintain Power Industrial Truck (PIT) license for pallet jack (Palletizer).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate robotic palletizer and manually palletize, including maintaining the necessary paperwork, as certified by a supervisor (Palletizer).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate basic skill level position as documented by the qualification card as well as necessary paperwork (Drop Packer/Retail, Unscrambler/Retail).
  • Minimum of 3 months experience in their current position and may not have attendance or performance disciplines above a 2nd warning (for consideration for Level III and above).

Nice To Haves

  • Qualified per the qualification criteria on at least 1 of the below assets (Level II): Labeler/Bander, 60mm Platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate basic skill level position as documented by the qualification card as well as necessary paperwork (Labeler/Bander, 60mm Platform).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate 1 of the following lines per the qualification card (Level III): Packet Platform, Bottle Platform, Pouch Platform, Hassia Platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate basic skill level position as documented by the qualification card as well as necessary paperwork (Packet Platform, Bottle Platform, Pouch Platform, Hassia Platform).
  • Includes Drop Packer, Unscrambler, and Labeler/Bander (Level III - Bottle Platform).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a Skilled Position as certified by a supervisor (Level III).

Responsibilities

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequently stand and walk. Sitting, using hands to lift or move, reaching with hands and arms.
  • Work in either a refrigerated or unconditioned environment.
  • Stay up-to-date on all Computer Based Training (CBT).
  • Follow the Company’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safety Policy including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, and Code of Ethics, as well as all material handling, dock and security safety.
  • Comprehend and follow verbal instructions, written short correspondence and memos.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate basic skill level position(s) (Packager, Palletizer, Drop Packer, Unscrambler).
  • Maintain Power Industrial Truck (PIT) license for pallet jack (Palletizer).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate robotic palletizer and manually palletize, including maintaining the necessary paperwork, as certified by a supervisor (Palletizer).
  • Act as a training partner for other employees (Level II and Lead).
  • Perform autonomous maintenance on equipment (Level II and III).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate specific lines per the qualification card (Level III - Packet Platform, Bottle Platform, Pouch Platform, Hassia Platform).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a Skilled Position as certified by a supervisor (Level III).
  • Monitor workers on site during production activities to ensure adherence to ethics and safety procedures (Lead).
  • Evaluate manufacturing equipment for safety and functionality (Lead).
  • Check finished products to ensure quality and that standards are met before they are declared ready for use (Lead).
  • Create work schedule for team members and communicate it (Lead).
  • Support supervisor in daily activities and special projects (Lead).
