About The Position

This role involves packaging a variety of products according to customer specifications. The Packaging Operator will be responsible for reviewing work orders, inspecting products for defects, manually weighing and counting items, and operating packaging machines. The position requires attention to detail in unloading and inspecting packaged products, placing them into boxes, and applying identification labels. Accurate completion of departmental paperwork is also essential. Employees are expected to participate in safety and health program activities, including reporting hazards and wearing required personal protective equipment.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Basic Reading, writing and math skills.

Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

Reviews Work Orders to determine packaging requirements.
Visually inspects product for defects and transfers defective items to the appropriate location.
Manual weighing and counting of product.
Loads product into packaging machines.
Monitors machines for proper function.
Unloads and visually inspects packaged product to ensure it meets quality standards.
Places packaged product into boxes.
Applies identification labels to boxes.
Accurately completes departmental paperwork.
Participates in safety and health program activities, including immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices, and incidents to supervisors.
Wears required personal protective equipment.
Participates in and supports safety committee activities.
