About The Position

The Operator I - Module 1 position is responsible for coordinating a single packaging and labeling line, ensuring uninterrupted and error-free operation. This role involves verifying the appropriateness of containers, product, and labeling for the assigned production run, operating instrument panels, and ensuring all employees assigned to packaging line stations perform their duties correctly. The operator will inspect packaging seal integrity, confirm diligent monitoring by assigned employees, and oversee the packaging and movement of product to inventory storage. Additionally, the role requires maintaining inventory and production records, calculating average production rates and ranges, plotting information on control charts, and completing paperwork to account for inventory changes in a timely manner. This position provides general supervision and may involve performing other job-related duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of general work experience.
  • Experience working a single packaging line with multiple stations and set-ups.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Understand and follow the lockout/tag out regulations and open line/entry permit requirements.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Access, Excel, Word, and Outlook) as well as other applicable software.
  • Successful completion of all company mandated &/or job-related training programs deemed appropriate.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, focus attention, work independently, work with a team, perform repetitive tasks, instruct, organize, read comprehension, and critical thinking/troubleshooting.
  • Ability to see, speak, hear, smell, kneel, stoop, sit, walk/climb, stand/reach, listen, write, possess physical coordination, drive, climb, twist/bend, assemble parts, and use a keyboard.
  • Ability to work in extreme heat/cold on elevated platforms with exposure to hazardous materials.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift/carry 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Ability to work in an environment frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles.
  • Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and operate under current Process Safety Management guidelines in accordance with their role.
  • Adherence to Refinery Conduct of Operations in refinery and safety-sensitive functions.
  • Ability to understand and operate under the guidelines of the Quality Management System while executing the functions of their position.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
