About The Position

A Machine Operator is responsible for a variety of machine-specific functions -- from setting up equipment, loading materials, operating machinery, to monitoring and optimizing efficiency, maintaining machines and performing quality checks. A machinist will typically have the knowledge and ability to operate/utilize various machines to produce high quality axles through either our machining process with various lathes and end mills or through our plating process to refurbish.

Requirements

Must be able to work any shift, overtime and weekends to meet business demands.
Must have complete understanding of safe work practices.
Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to read and write legibly to complete production reports with accuracy.
Must be quality oriented and a team player.
Strong attention to detail.
Organizational skills.
Mechanical aptitude.
Read precision instruments and gauges.
Understand technical drawings and work instructions.
Capable use of hand and power tools, including pneumatic tools.
Operate overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

Operate machinery to produce & refurbish wheels set according to AAR guidelines.
Follow all work procedures and maintain accurate documentation accordingly.
Abide by all safety regulations.
Operate overhead cranes.
Complete production reports with accuracy.
