About The Position

Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Chemical Manufacturing Operator I, sets up and operates departmental equipment to perform material processing for the R&F department’s numerous Product lines. Operators will also be introduced to standard chemical preparations and perform reactions in vacuum kettle, induction, resistance and drying/kiln type furnaces and ovens according to production orders. Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in an industrial setting
  • Experience with measuring/weighing materials
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products/ERP equivalent
  • Export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on Materion’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with Materion’s business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all operational steps to produce materials that are used in several different product lines.
  • Complete blend calculations.
  • Set up and run different furnaces and ovens according to work instructions/SOPs.
  • Perform gas cylinder changes.
  • Ensure theoretical element percentages are achieved to produce consistent products for our customers.
  • Partner with the Technology & Innovation and Engineering groups to assist in the development of departmental processes.
