About The Position

This role is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of a hydraulic crane, specifically those with a capacity of 200-300 tons. The operator must adhere to established standards and procedures, understanding the scope, reduction, restriction, and lifting capacity of the load, as well as the actual height under the hook. Key duties include observing load hook-ups for safety, manipulating crane controls for precise movement, cleaning and maintaining the crane and hoisting mechanism, inspecting for defects, and notifying supervisors of any malfunctions. The operator will also be involved in loading, transporting, and unloading materials, assisting with the positioning and securing of materials, performing minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment, and ensuring the safe operation of all related equipment. Planning and coordinating crane movement and set-up are also essential. Punctuality and dependable attendance are required, along with strict adherence to all safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 48 months industrial construction experience.
  • Understanding of crane operation, including load capacity, scope, reduction, and restriction.
  • Ability to observe load hook-ups and determine safety.
  • Proficiency in manipulating crane controls according to instructions.
  • Capability to clean and maintain crane and hoisting mechanisms.
  • Skill in inspecting cranes for defects and reporting malfunctions.
  • Experience in loading, transporting, and unloading materials.
  • Ability to perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of cranes, hoists, tools, and materials.
  • Ability to assist in crane assembly and disassembly.
  • Skill in planning and coordinating crane movement and set-up.
  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Adherence to all safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the assembly and disassembly of cranes.
  • Plan and coordinate crane movement and set-up.
  • Maintain punctuality and a dependable level of attendance.
