About The Position

Industrial Forklift Operators operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials. They are responsible for equipment inspections and operating safety, and may assist with repairs. During downtime, they may assist other crafts with non-operating activities. Operators may follow directions from a signaler and assess work areas for safety issues and required processes when planning equipment operations.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as an industrial forklift operator, including extended-boom or Lull forklifts.
• Experience and knowledge operating various rough-terrain (RT) forklifts.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to inspect equipment.
• Knowledge of soil types and excavation requirements and specifications.
• Ability to follow instructions correctly and comply with safety regulations.
• Reliability, accountability, and consistency in administrative processes such as equipment inspection paperwork.
• Ability to meet the designated schedule, arrive on time, and work overtime as needed with proper notification.
• Valid driver's license; the position may also require a motor vehicle records check.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Must have all required tools and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move, load, and unload materials.
• Inspect equipment and identify safety issues or equipment concerns.
• Be responsible for safety while operating equipment and follow instructed safety regulations.
• Follow signal directions from a signaler during equipment operations when required.
• Assess the work area for safety issues and required processes as part of planning equipment operations.
• Assist with repairs and support other crafts during downtime as needed.
• Complete equipment inspection paperwork and other administrative processes reliably.
• Work the designated schedule and overtime as needed with proper notification.
