About The Position

The Operator (D) is responsible for performing foundational production support tasks while learning basic manufacturing processes and safety procedures. This entry-level role assists with general labor activities, material handling, and housekeeping, while developing the skills needed to operate equipment and advance within the production team. The position plays a key role in supporting overall plant operations and building a strong foundation for career growth.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be capable of learning the duties of a worker in a chemical plant environment
Must be capable of operating a forklift, filling drums with resin to the exact weights, loading chemicals into reactors and making small batches.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, drive a forklift, climb, and walk

Nice To Haves

0–1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or general labor environments preferred

Responsibilities

Operating a forklift inside and outside of the plant moving drums and pallets of raw materials safely.
Exchanging verbal information with another employee several floors below regarding material movement.
Filling drums of finished materials and moving these drums from the filling location to the warehouse.
Reading and understanding written instructions for labeling and stencils on drums.
Hearing a variety of warnings such as the fire alarm, kettle high temperature alarm, forklift horns, thermal oxidizer alarms, etc.
Wearing a respirator for completing tasks where dusts or other hazards are present.
General and extensive housekeeping.
Receiving training for operator trainee tasks.
Learning and demonstrating understanding of policies and procedures for hazardous waste accumulation, container labeling and marking, container storage, recycling and waste minimization, and emergency response roles in the facility Contingency Plan.
Performing other duties as assigned by management.
Punctuality and regularity of attendance are job requirements.
