About The Position

Idaho Asphalt Supply, Inc. is a leading asphalt supplier and marketer in the Inland Northwest and Pacific Northwest Regions. With plants in Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, California, and Arizona, IAS supplies a diverse product line of asphalts, polymer-modified asphalt, and asphalt emulsions to the road maintenance and construction industry. IAS is looking for an energized and flexible self-starter to fill a full-time opening for an Operator 3 that reports to the Plant Manager. This position is responsible for loading and unloading of products, AC (asphalt concrete), and PMA’s (polymer-modified asphalt).

Requirements

Must be First Aid certified within 90-days of hire.
A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Two (2) years of related experience/education/certification.
Previous work experience, especially in the areas of manufacturing or production.
The ability to perform basic arithmetic operations accurately (add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentages).
Communicate in English (orally and in writing).
Strong customer focus.
The ability to learn quickly and be able to perform job duties within 60 days of hire.
This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

All Level 2 duties.
Knowledge of plant quality control testing.
Knowledge of the lock-out/tag-out process.
Knowledge of the confined entry preparation process.
Knowledge of the boiler, hot oil, and glycol operations and the ability to perform maintenance on these systems.
Ability to perform maintenance, winterization, troubleshooting on the utility systems.
Knowledge of the waste handling processes.
Ability to operate mill with oversight.
Trains/leads Operators 1 and 2.
