The Operator 2 position is responsible for the proper preparation, cleaning, loading, inspection, and running of parts in 1-4 production machines with moderate supervision. This role involves working from written instructions, work orders, standard programs, and instructions given by the supervisor or lead. The Operator 2 maintains the flow of production parts into the assigned machine or process, which can be highly repetitive but requires attention to machines. They unload ceramic and/or other parts, may inspect them to remove and record any defective parts, and perform basic computer operations for recording metrics. The role also includes maintaining quality tools, accurate record keeping, monitoring and documenting machine operations, performing minor maintenance, and reporting major repairs needed. Proper recording of production information, keeping the work area clean, safe, and organized, and assisting with the company 5S program are also key responsibilities. The Operator 2 will read handheld measuring instruments, support less experienced operators, transport parts without damage, and cross-train in CMM and other advanced measurement tools. They must comply with applicable requirements of Kyocera International, Inc. policy, including ISO 9000, ISO 14001, ISO18001, ITAR, and any other site-specific regulations, while producing precision parts within time constraints. Support for machinists and the ability to use G/M codes at the controller to adjust are also part of the role. This position may require exposure to information subject to US Export Control regulations, such as ITAR or EAR, and all applicants must be US persons.
