The Operator 2 position is responsible for the proper preparation, cleaning, loading, inspection, and running of parts in 1-4 production machines with moderate supervision. This role involves working from written instructions, work orders, standard programs, and instructions given by the supervisor or lead. The Operator 2 maintains the flow of production parts into the assigned machine or process, which can be highly repetitive but requires attention to machines. They unload ceramic and/or other parts, inspect them to remove and record any defective parts, and perform basic computer operations for recording metrics. The role includes monitoring and documenting machine operations, performing minor maintenance, and reporting major repairs needed. Accurate record keeping, maintaining safety and Quality Assurance standards, and assisting with the company 5S program are also key aspects. Operators are expected to read handheld measuring instruments properly, support less experienced operators, and transport parts without damage. Cross-training in CMM and other advanced measurement tools is also part of the role. Compliance with applicable requirements of Kyocera International, Inc. policy, including ISO 9000, ISO 14001, ISO18001, ITAR, and any other site-specific regulations, is mandatory. The position requires producing precision parts within time constraints and supporting machinists as needed, with the ability to use G/M codes at the controller to adjust.
