About The Position

The Operator 1 is responsible for operating a variety of machinery to fabricate railcar component parts to meet close and complex tolerances. At Greenbrier, we do the hard work that matters. Requirements

• 6+ months experience operating various types of manufacturing equipment and machinery
• Ability to work in a team or alone
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects effectively
• Ability to adhere to deadlines

Nice To Haves

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to use and read tape measures
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics

Responsibilities

• Assembles and grinds products such as carbon and stainless steel, or aluminum, using grinders, tables or conveyor systems.
• Uses hand tools such as wrenches, electric tools, ratchets, saws, presses, drills and tape measures.
• Monitors output and proper operation of mechanical equipment.
• Adjusts parts to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Conducts regular inspections of parts produced through measurements.
• Reads drawings and follows production standards.
• Ensures that safety and housekeeping standards are met and maintained.
