About The Position

Strait-Flex, a division of ClarkDietrich, is seeking an Operator 1 to join their team in O'Fallon, MO. This role offers a work-life balance, competitive compensation, and benefits. The Operator 1 will be responsible for operating and maintaining production equipment, ensuring safety and quality standards are met, and performing various tasks within the production facility.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction.

• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and adjust production equipment by use of appropriate tools and procedures.
• Keep machine operating according to operating procedures and in good condition.
• Communicate machine malfunctions with Team Lead, Supervisor, or Maintenance.
• Understand production requirements and production schedule with guidance from Team Lead or Supervisor.
• Perform to machine goals.
• Ability to cross train on various job functions within the production facility.
• Must be able to work in a Team environment.
• Ability to direct, assist, and train helpers to perform necessary functions.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.
• Works safely and follows all safety rules and operational procedures.
• Performs Lockout Procedure as required by mill specific Lockout JSA.
• Wears and maintains all appropriate PPE as required.
• Understands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to machine operation.
• Performs quality checks, to include: Understands and performs routine checks for part dimension using appropriate tools.
• Appropriately maintains all quality paperwork in a legible manner.
• Performs routine maintenance and notifies maintenance personnel concerning any machine issues that might slow down production, cause a safety concern or lead to further maintenance problems.
• Assists maintenance personnel as directed.
• Maintains a clean, organized work station.
• Willingness to train in multiple production areas within the facility.
• Performs all necessary paperwork.
