About The Position

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has a broad mandate and is committed to maintaining and improving New Brunswick’s public infrastructure. The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure’s mission is to contribute to New Brunswick’s economy and quality of life by providing and supporting sustainable infrastructure that allows for the safe and efficient movement of people, goods and government services to the public. The department is responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, and also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.

Requirements

  • Completion of grade ten (10).
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in highway striping marking and machine operation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
  • Written and spoken competence in English is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates who have worked on Pavement Markings Operations for more than one (1) year.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-marking and application of pavement markings for passing, non-passing and related highway striping.
  • Operating portable paint machines.
  • Operating of spray paint equipment on the highway striper and/or paint removing machines to apply or remove symbols and markings on the highway surface.
