As an Operations Transition Engineer on our team, you will work with Booz Allen colleagues and the military to develop and deploy the next generation of Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) capabilities to our warfighters. Your client will trust you to develop and execute system transition plans to transition system from development to operations and sustainment. You will work with system testers, operators, and sustainers to develop and help implement transition and sustainment support strategies and participate in transition planning working groups. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with large-scale USSF space mission and systems engineering and integration on national security space programs
  • 4+ years of experience developing system transition and sustainment plans
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, project management, and communications
  • Knowledge of system engineering management and processes, including development phasing, lifecycle integration, requirements development, analysis, testing, and integration
  • Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals
  • Ability to be highly motivated and work independently in a dynamic environment and contribute to the DoD mission
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science field

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with DoD and Space Force system testers, operators, and sustainers
  • Experience performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space-based remote sensing systems
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02
  • Knowledge of DoD systems engineering principles and policies
  • Ability to develop written artifacts supporting Space Operations
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Master’s degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science field
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP Certification
