About The Position

The Operations Technology (OT) Cyber Security Technical or Systems Analyst will be part of the OT Cyber Security & CIP Operations team. This team supports three distinct functional areas: Supporting adherence to North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards. Establish and promote OT cyber security best practices throughout the District. Developing processes and workflows that strengthen both compliance and security. Candidates are not expected to have experience in all three areas. The role is ideal for individuals with a solid foundation in one or more areas, paired with motivation to learn and develop capabilities in the others. NERC CIP Compliance Activities Responsibilities may include reviewing and interpreting new and existing NERC CIP standards, writing policies and procedures that ensure compliance, and training system owners on compliance related processes. Additional responsibilities may include data tracking, evidence collection, process documentation, and supporting accurate reporting for regulatory requirements. OT Cyber Security Activities Responsibilities may include supporting security frameworks and roadmaps, participating in risk mitigation efforts, and reviewing OT projects for alignment with cyber security policies and standards. The analyst will assist with the development and maintenance of OT cyber security documentation, governance practices, and design requirements. Depending on the candidate’s skill level, work may also include supporting technologies such as access control, logging, malware defense, or vulnerability scanning. Process and Workflow Development Responsibilities may include converting complex operational or compliance processes into documented workflows and translating those workflows into electronic formats within compliance software tools. The focus will be on ensuring workflows are practical, effective, and supportive of both cyber security and compliance objectives. This role works collaboratively with teams across Substations, Telecommunications, Energy Supply (generation), Physical Security, Corporate IT Cyber Security, and other Enterprise Technology groups. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, motivated, and eager to expand their knowledge across multiple disciplines. Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and interpreting new and existing NERC CIP standards, writing policies and procedures that ensure compliance, and training system owners on compliance related processes.

  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of OT cyber security documentation, governance practices, and design requirements.
  • Supporting technologies such as access control, logging, malware defense, or vulnerability scanning (depending on skill level).
  • Converting complex operational or compliance processes into documented workflows and translating those workflows into electronic formats within compliance software tools.
  • Analyzing, designing, developing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and providing direction and support for complex systems, applications and databases in support of the District's computing environment (Technical Analyst).
  • Providing technical architecture recommendations and applying best practices in system design, development, and testing (Technical Analyst).
  • Collaborating with/advising/coaching other ET/Corporate Security and business unit analysts to ensure understanding of business and technical work processes, tools, and best practices (Technical Analyst).
  • Evaluating, creating, documenting, and testing complex system-related interfaces and integration (Technical Analyst).
  • Maintaining efficient and effective management of vendor contract service relationships pertaining to technical services (Technical Analyst).
  • Providing 24/7 system support, as needed (Technical Analyst).
  • Leading special task groups, trouble-shooting efforts, and integration and/or improvement project teams (Systems Analyst).
  • Leading the development and implementation of training and communications plans/materials (Systems Analyst).
  • Demonstrating a proven understanding of key NPPD business unit activities and successful application of ET/Corporate Security technical solution design, development, and responsive customer support and service (Senior Systems Analyst).
  • Working closely with ET/Corporate Security management to oversee and lead resolution of complex technical challenges and new business system initiatives (Senior Systems Analyst).
  • Accountable for other duties as assigned (Senior Systems Analyst).
