About The Position

At Williams, we’re powering a cleaner, more connected future. We are expanding our team to support high-tech facilities with reliable, clean energy. This role is for an Operations Technician who is passionate about hands-on work, cutting-edge technology, and making a real impact. As an Operations Technician, you’ll be part of a dynamic team maintaining one of Williams’ largest installations of horsepower and power distribution equipment. You’ll gain valuable experience working with gas turbines, high-speed reciprocating engines, medium voltage generators, power distribution systems, environmental controls, and distributed control systems. You’ll also support construction projects, troubleshoot equipment, and analyze data to solve technical challenges.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and travel between locations
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions and elevated areas with PPE
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC applications
  • Ability to embrace new technologies and drive operational efficiency

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ months of operations experience, or internship with Associate degree (for Technician I)
  • 2+ years of operations experience, preferably in oil & gas (for Technician II)
  • 3+ years of operations experience, preferably in oil & gas (for Technician III)
  • 6+ years of operations experience with similar equipment or facilities; Associate degree preferred (for Technician Sr)

Responsibilities

  • Keeping equipment running safely and smoothly by performing a range of hands-on tasks, from reading drawings to inspecting gear and supporting pipeline operations—all while meeting technical standards and regulations
  • Collaborating with teammates to analyze data and find solutions to technical or operational challenges
  • Following company policies and using the right procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations
  • Learning and applying the requirements for safe, effective facility operations, while protecting our team, community, environment, and assets
  • Staying familiar with your site, equipment, and permits to help maintain compliance and support smooth operations
  • Maintaining accurate records of process operations, completing reports and logs, and assisting with preventive maintenance to ensure top equipment performance
  • Helping with other projects and responsibilities as needed
