About The Position

Williams is seeking a mechanically-focused Operations Technician to join a motivated team responsible for maintaining Williams’ largest horsepower and power distribution installations. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable, clean energy powering exciting data center projects. The technician will work with gas turbines, high-speed reciprocating engines, medium voltage generators, power distribution, environmental controls, and distributed control systems. Responsibilities include supporting construction, diagnosing and repairing equipment, and solving technical challenges, with opportunities for leadership development.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and travel between locations
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions and elevated areas with PPE
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC applications
  • Ability to embrace new technologies and drive operational efficiency

Nice To Haves

  • 6+ months of mechanical or technical experience, or internship with Associate degree (Technician I)
  • 2+ years of related experience, preferably in oil & gas (Technician II)
  • 3+ years of technician experience, preferably in oil & gas (Technician III)
  • 6+ years of experience with similar equipment or facilities; Associate degree preferred (Technician Sr)

Responsibilities

  • Keeping equipment running safely and smoothly by performing hands-on tasks, reading drawings, inspecting gear, and supporting pipeline operations while meeting technical standards and regulations.
  • Collaborating with teammates to analyze data and find solutions to technical or operational challenges.
  • Following company policies and using the right procedures to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Learning and applying requirements for safe, effective facility operations, while protecting the team, community, environment, and assets.
  • Staying familiar with the site, equipment, and permits to maintain compliance and support smooth operations.
  • Maintaining accurate records of process operations, completing reports and logs, and assisting with preventive maintenance.
  • Helping with other projects and responsibilities as needed.
