About The Position

Venturi, LLC, a Chenega company, has an exciting career opportunity for an Operations Technician III who performs assignments not completely standardized or prescribed. The Operations Technician III selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents. The Operations Technician III receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from the supervisor or engineer as needed and performs recurring work independently. This individual performs process-oriented technical procedures in a team setting. Desired skill-set includes writing operations orders, leading technical teams, heavy equipment operations, and general material handling and warehousing, with experience handling hazardous materials. This individual will work on an operations team responsible for the general transportation of cargo, including hazardous materials, and will perform general warehouse work and material handling. Must be computer literate (operate and update automated web-based data system) and competent in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Mail). Candidate must be physically able to lift boxes, packages, and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds using proper equipment and lifting techniques. Personnel may be required to perform strenuous walking, pushing, and lifting tasks and may have to stand for extended periods of time. Personnel will be expected to demonstrate precise documentation skills.

Requirements

  • Associate degree and 10+ years of relevant experience OR High school diploma or GED and 12+ years of experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Interim Secret clearance required
  • Strong backgrounds in the following areas are preferred: Welding: MIG, TIG, and ARC (certifications are beneficial)
  • Fabrication
  • Hydraulic systems repair, including cylinder evaluation/rebuild
  • Electrical System Repair- A/C up to 480V 3ph. and D/C up to 48V
  • HVAC categories EPA608 Universal with 410A and EPA609 (certifications are beneficial)
  • Painting/respirator (qualification is beneficial)
  • General mechanical repairs
  • Experience with commercial and military type material handling equipment is desired.
  • Must demonstrate maturity and technical strength in the respective area of expertise and be able to adjust quickly to a complex and ever-evolving scope of work.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to conscientiously follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proper use of standard hand tools and material handling equipment.
  • Operation of heavy equipment, including trucks and forklifts for general material handling.
  • Ability to maintain a driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift boxes, packages, and equipment weighing up to 100 pounds using proper equipment and lifting techniques.
  • Physically fit with full use of arms, legs, and back.
  • Ability to maintain required training and certifications.
  • Ability to use computers to search for and generate information using Microsoft.
  • Ability to travel 15-30% to CONUS and OCONUS locations.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform extremely high-profile work for the Department of Defense.
  • Conduct various tests or operations which may require minor modifications in setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard equipment, and maintain appropriate records of operations conducted.
  • Extract and compile a variety of operating procedures, written policies and regulations, field notes, manuals, and lab reports, processing data, identifying errors, or inconsistencies, and selecting proper procedures to complete tasks.
  • Assist process/procedural modification by compiling data related to assigned operations, specifications, and materials pertinent to assigned tasks.
  • Develop information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and use judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information and improve processes.
  • Provide semi-professional technical support, engineering, and analysis, working in areas like transportation support, test, and engineering operations.
  • Function independently to resolve problems and advise staff members to meet established objectives.
  • Prepare materials for shipping.
  • Operate test and diagnostic equipment.
  • Operate handling equipment.
  • Operate/drive various vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.
