About The Position

CRC is seeking to fill an Operations Technician role for our Roosevelt, Utah office. Under direct supervision, the Operations Technician 1 performs routine tasks supporting the company's production activities in the office. This position is responsible for setting up and maintaining files, assisting in preparing and submitting required governmental reports, and shares responsibility for monitoring and optimizing processing systems while maintaining mechanical integrity.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED equivalent required
Valid Driver’s License required
0 to 3 years of oil and gas industry experience
Basic computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, as well as DCS/SCADA control systems.
Knowledge of regulatory and HSE requirements and policies, as well as emergency response procedures.
Demonstrated commitment to safety.

Nice To Haves

2-year Technical degree or Associate's degree preferred
Experience working with regulatory agencies preferred
Demonstrated self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Experience working with camera equipment as it relates to monitoring equipment or capturing data related to the production process.
Experience with FLIR or Opgal camera.

Responsibilities

Setting up and maintaining files.
Assisting in preparing and submitting required governmental reports.
Monitoring and optimizing processing systems while maintaining mechanical integrity.
Training in the use of LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) protocols and equipment.
Performing administrative functions related to maintenance and compliance documentation.
Ensuring emissions are systematically identified, assessing risks, and managing them.
Maintaining emission facility automation.
Coordinating all active U.I.C. (Underground Injection Control) project requirements.
Coordinating mechanical integrity testing.
Compiling and maintaining regulatory documentation databases or systems.
Coordinating efforts associated with the preparation of regulatory documents or submissions.
Communicating with regulatory agencies regarding pre-submission strategies, potential regulatory pathways, compliance test requirements, or clarification and follow-up of submissions under review.
Escorting government inspectors during inspections and providing post-inspection follow-up information as requested.
Maintaining a current knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations, standards, or guidance documents.
Preparing or directing the preparation of additional information or responses as requested by regulatory agencies.
Collaborating with facility engineers to optimize systems and ensure appropriate records are maintained.
Troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and replacing systems associated with engines and fugitive gas issues.
Performing routine and preventative maintenance to optimize mechanical performance and operating efficiency.
Maintaining the performance of temperature, pressure, flow, and level measurement control equipment and valves, hydraulic controls, and single-loop controllers.
Monitoring the gathering system compression through automation and accurate reporting and data collection on spills.
Ensuring effective and reliable communications to other locations.
Assisting with spill prevention through testing of chatterboxes and Murphy switches.
Ensuring the timely and accurate execution of automation control requests.
Effectively communicating with the team, team leader, and other teams or customers, both internal and external.
Ensuring regulatory and corporate compliance, which may entail working with State and Federal employees or attending educational events regarding fugitive emissions.
Monitoring equipment and equipment parameters.
Collecting data and assisting with data troubleshooting.
Installing and maintaining production facility automation.
Performing administrative functions relating to maintenance documentation.
Ensuring hazards are systematically identified and risks assessed and managed.
Ensuring facilities and processes are fit for service.
Developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve the safety and integrity of the operation.
Ensuring protective systems and devices are in place to prevent, detect, control, or mitigate incidents.
Collaborating with the operational and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) team to effectively meet area and departmental HSE goals.
Complying with all the company's Safety and Environmental policies, practices, and programs, and taking corrective action within training limitations, escalating as necessary.
Participating in and adhering to all training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge, safety standards, and improve job performance.
Performing other duties as assigned.
