About The Position

As Operations Technician III, you’ll perform a variety of tasks to support pipeline operations and safely maintain facility equipment. The role includes reading and interpreting drawings, analyzing data to resolve technical and operational problems, and maintaining accurate records. Knowledge of permits and compliance, adherence to operating and maintenance procedures, and a strong focus on safety are important to success.

The technician maintains general knowledge of the site, location, equipment, permits, and compliance requirements; completes reports and logs; and records process operations and equipment preventive maintenance. Candidates must be able to work in demanding physical and environmental conditions, participate in on-call rotations, and travel between Williams locations as needed. The role may be filled at a level aligned with a candidate’s skills and growth potential.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum three years of demonstrated ability as an operations technician or in a similar role.
• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Aptitude and ability to embrace technology and applications to drive operational efficiency and streamline processes.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with safety as the utmost priority.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and PC skills.
• Proficient or advanced knowledge of Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers.
• Willingness to work in extreme temperatures, loud noise, and enclosed spaces.
• Ability to carry or lift items up to 50 pounds and team lift loads over 50 pounds as needed.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods.
• Ability to work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or small towers, using appropriate PPE.
• Ability and willingness to use hand tools.
• Availability for after-hours work, on-call rotations, nights, weekend shifts, and holidays as needed.
• Willingness to work overtime and 10–12-hour shifts and travel between Williams locations, including occasional overnight stays.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree or two-year technical degree.
• Minimum two years of multifaceted operations technician experience in the oil and gas industry.
