About The Position

This role is responsible for overseeing event set-up, services, and tear-down, ensuring the highest level of service to clients. The Operations Team Leader will supervise and instruct crews, manage facility upkeep and maintenance, and assist in training and employee evaluations. This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate various equipment.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in instructing and supervising crews.
  • Experience with facility changeovers between events.
  • Knowledge of cleaning, upkeep, and minor maintenance of facilities and equipment.
  • Ability to report maintenance issues and safety concerns.
  • Strong customer service skills for client interaction.
  • Experience in resolving client questions and concerns.
  • Knowledge of proper storage of event equipment and furniture.
  • Experience with cleaning and housekeeping projects (carpet extraction, floor stripping/sealing, waste removal, window cleaning).
  • Experience in training and orienting new employees.
  • Ability to monitor employee progress and assist with evaluations.
  • Understanding of conflict resolution, general work instructions, union contracts, and company policies.
  • Ability to inform management of employee issues and assist with disciplinary procedures.
  • Skills in compiling information and generating reports (time reports, work studies).
  • Ability to track and monitor employee time cards and productivity.
  • Experience with snow removal and outdoor grounds maintenance.
  • Proficiency in operating motorized equipment (ice re-surfacer, forklifts, floor scrubbers, aerial lifts, snow removal equipment).
  • Ability to communicate building policies to clients.
  • Assistance with ice installation, preparation, and maintenance.

  • Experience with Hockey, staging, audio/visual equipment.
  • Experience with ice reverse osmosis systems.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Operations Manager and Event Coordinators to develop time lines, schedules and action plans for event set-up and services.
  • Supervises and instructs the crews in the set-up, additions and changes, striking and tear down of Events.
  • Makes changes in floor plans and layouts at the direction of management in charge of events.
  • Oversees the changeover of the facility from one event to another.
  • Responsible for the cleaning, upkeep and minor maintenance of the facility and related support areas.
  • Reports all major maintenance items and safety concerns to management.
  • Responsible for delivering the highest level of service to all clients and events.
  • Assists in resolving client’s questions and concerns.
  • Oversees the cleaning, minor maintenance and proper storage of all event equipment and furniture, including Hockey, staging, audio / visual equipment and motorized equipment.
  • Supervises and performs cleaning and housekeeping projects throughout the facility, i.e. carpet extraction, floor stripping and sealing, waste removal, window cleaning and other housekeeping as needed.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of new employees, assist with continuing education and training sessions for existing employees, monitors employees progress and assist with employee evaluations.
  • Expected to resolve employee conflicts by reference to general work instructions, Union contract and ASM’s policies and procedures.
  • Informs management of disciplinary or other problems with crew members and assist in administering disciplinary procedures.
  • Compiles information and generates time reports for event wrap up information and work studies, tracts and monitors employee’s time cards and employee productivity, makes recommendations to management for increased productivity.
  • Assist with snow removal and other outdoor grounds maintenance projects as directed.
  • Operates motorized equipment in the performance of assigned duties ie: ice re-surfacer, forklifts; floor scrubber, aerial lifts, snow removal equipment.
  • Works closely with clients and the general public and represents the facility in communicating building policies with clients regarding set-up, move in/out, and over all facility policies.
  • Assists with ice installation, preparation and maintenance; typical methods and techniques for maintaining, repairing and building ice; and ice reverse osmosis system.
