About The Position

This role is based in Waco, Texas, with support for operations in Dover, Delaware and Aurora, Colorado. The Operations Systems Specialist supports warehouse operational performance, inventory accuracy, continuous improvement, and systems discipline across the North American distribution network. This position serves as a key connection between warehouse operations, inventory control, reporting, and technology by ensuring warehouse processes and system transactions are accurate, standardized, measurable, and consistently executed. The role analyzes operational and inventory data, supports the effective use of SAP, LFS WMS, and related reporting tools, identifies root causes of process and inventory issues, and coordinates corrective actions with warehouse leadership and cross-functional partners. Regular warehouse-floor engagement is essential to translating system data into practical operational improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, supply chain, or operations systems.
  • Experience with ERP and warehouse management systems; SAP and LFS experience strongly preferred, including core warehouse transactions and processes.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, cycle counts, reconciliation, material flow, and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, work instructions, process maps, standard work, and employee training materials.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using operational data, KPIs, reports, and dashboards to identify trends and drive process improvements.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency; experience with Power Query, Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, initiative, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to work on-site in Waco, TX and travel up to 20% to other Company distribution centers as business needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous-improvement methodologies preferred; related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and reconcile inventory variances, stock discrepancies, damages, transaction errors, and location inaccuracies; coordinate corrective actions and verify resolution.
  • Lead and support cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, recounts, and inventory-control improvement activities.
  • Maintain an active warehouse-floor presence to validate system data against physical activity, identify process gaps, and support timely issue resolution.
  • Support receiving, put-away, replenishment, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, material flow, and transaction discipline.
  • Map and evaluate warehouse processes to identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, service, inventory accuracy, throughput, labor efficiency, and cost.
  • Apply root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods to recurring operational issues and verify that corrective actions produce sustained improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and standardize SOPs, work instructions, process maps, job aids, training materials, and SAP/LFS procedures across distribution operations.
  • Identify gaps between documented procedures and actual practices and coordinate corrective actions to improve consistency and compliance.
  • Support continuous-improvement initiatives involving warehouse layout, slotting, replenishment, picking, material flow, waste reduction, and labor efficiency.
  • Track improvement initiatives, action items, implementation progress, and results; support operational reviews and KPI discussions.
  • Support effective use of SAP and LFS, ensuring accurate inventory movement, warehouse transactions, location control, and order processing.
  • Analyze operational and system data to identify trends, variances, process failures, and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, and recurring operational reports using SAP, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or other approved tools.
  • Maintain warehouse master-data accuracy and partner with IT and operational teams to troubleshoot system issues, test changes, and implement solutions.
  • Train and support employees on SAP, LFS, inventory-control practices, reporting tools, and standardized warehouse processes; serve as a subject-matter resource.
  • Lead assigned projects and coordinate improvement activities across Warehouse Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Service, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, IT, and Carrier Relations.
  • Communicate operational findings, risks, recommendations, and progress clearly to stakeholders at all levels while promoting accountability, teamwork, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide operational coverage, project support, training, and issue resolution for warehouse leadership as needed.
