About The Position

Eurofins Scientific is an international life sciences company providing a unique range of analytical testing services. The Operations Support Technician will use appropriate software applications to track receipt, storage, use, expiration, disposal, return, and/or archiving of test materials. This role involves receiving, creating IDs, logging-in, and storing materials upon receipt, as well as moving or transferring materials between departments. The technician will check materials in and out as requested by study personnel, maintain proper paperwork, and handle the return, disposal, or archiving of materials at study finalization. A key part of the role is to notify the supervisor of any issues with sample condition, labeling, or other problems. The technician must ensure adherence to all current SOPs, Good Laboratory Practices, Current Good Manufacturing Processes (CGMP), and relevant regulations (USDA, DOT, EPA, MDNR, OSHA, FDA, etc.) for quarantined matrices, genetically altered crops, and all materials/samples. Accurate and legible documentation is essential. Routine tasks include calibration of balances and assisting in unloading trucks and storing materials. Depending on the area of assignment, responsibilities may extend to performing routine homogenization on radioactive and non-radioactive matrices, total radioactive residue analyses, regular culturing tasks, and assisting with dilution equipment and preparation. The role also involves handling regulated materials (quarantined matrices, DEA-controlled, and radiolabeled materials), potential biohazard materials, and toxic chemicals according to company procedures. Other related duties as required and directed will also be performed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all current SOPs, Good Laboratory Practices, Current Good Manufacturing Processes (CGMP), and/or relevant regulations (USDA, DOT, EPA, MDNR, OSHA, FDA, etc.) for quarantined matrices; genetically altered crops, and all materials/samples are followed.
  • Maintains accurate and legible required documentation.
  • Performs routine tasks for calibration of balances.
  • Assists in unloading trucks and storing materials appropriately.
  • Depending on area of assignment, performs routine homogenization on radioactive and non-radioactive matrices using various equipment including but not limited to the hammermill, Robot Coupes, miter saw, Straub Grinding Mill, etc.
  • Depending on area of assignment, may perform total radioactive residue analyses.
  • Depending on area of assignment, may perform regular culturing tasks such as feeding organisms, recording keeping, and cleaning.
  • Depending on area of assignment, may maintain, monitor, and otherwise assist with dilution equipment and preparation.
  • Depending on area of assignment, handles regulated materials (quarantined matrices, DEA-controlled, and radiolabeled materials, etc.), potential biohazard materials, and toxic chemicals according to company procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as required and directed.
