About The Position

The Operations Support Specialist provides administrative and operational support across multiple departments to ensure the efficient execution of daily business operations. This role is responsible for coordinating purchasing activities, managing vendor relationships, supporting inventory and material planning, assisting with project coordination, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and operational efficiency. The Operations Support Specialist works collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to help ensure materials, resources, and projects are delivered accurately, on time, and within budget.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.
  • Must be able to access all areas of office, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in purchasing, operations, project coordination, or administrative support preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, building materials, or the lumber industry is preferred.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with leadership and internal departments to identify purchasing, inventory, and operational needs.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, requisitions, and related purchasing documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve issues related to pricing, quality, or delivery.
  • Monitor inventory levels and material availability to support production and operational schedules.
  • Assist with evaluating vendor bids, contracts, and supplier performance.
  • Coordinate the availability and allocation of materials, supplies, and finished products.
  • Support project planning by maintaining schedules, tracking progress, and assisting with project management tools and reporting.
  • Collect and analyze operational and project data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Prepare reports related to purchasing, inventory, projects, and operational performance.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting, forecasting, and expense tracking.
  • Coordinate the disposal or redistribution of surplus materials and inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
  • Support the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
