Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline required.
  • Minimum of 12 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in construction activities at a DOE Cat II Nuclear or NRC Nuclear Facility.
  • Satisfactory results of a pre-employment screening, which includes a background check and drug screening in accordance with Federal requirements.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, candidates must be able to successfully pass a federal background investigation to secure and maintain DOE Q security clearance.
  • Successful candidates will be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing required.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience supporting the DOE mission is highly desired.
  • Prior DOE experience in construction or D&D projects and experience in a work control setting with alignment to quality control, assurance and managing complex issues under NQA-1 preferred.
  • Previous qualifications as an Electrical Field Work Supervisor, Field Work Supervisor, or Responsible (Line) Manager, and previous work experience in a DOE Plutonium facility are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of over-arching mission deliverables for construction activities and operations, including the quality, accuracy, efficiency and successful completion of assigned deliverables.
  • Responsibility for the safety and timely delivery of work in a Hazard Category 2 Security Classification 2 radiological facility while ensuring the work is done in compliance with Laboratory policies and other regulatory requirements.
  • Organization of operations in the areas of construction and field controls.
  • Day-to-day technical interface between the facility operations organization and the programmatic tenants in a laboratory room or a collection of rooms.
  • Assist in the day-to-day business operations functions and in the development and delivery of facility operations-focused programs, policies, processes, and procedures in support of safe and compliant facility operations.
  • Provide guidance on governmental regulations and Laboratory guidelines.
  • Conduct incident and general issues management investigations and reporting.
  • Participate in or supporting readiness reviews for operations.
  • Support the activity approval process; developing and maintaining required operational documentation and procedural manuals; planning and budgeting; and providing other compliance and/or quality-related support functions including development of training, delivery of facility-level training, tracking and assurance of employee training; property accountability, and access control.
  • Ensure the timely completion of discrete technical activities or operational projects.
  • Adhere to technical requirements for the project and in coordination of the various groups within the Construction project and ensures that they are properly staffed and executed.
  • Provide timely group support services to assist the various construction projects.
  • Ensure consistent application of construction engineering standards and practices between jobs.
  • Ensuring documentation is adequate and developing when it is not, installing and improving processes, managing budgets, providing oversight for other workers and subcontractors, and effectively communicating with stakeholders and customers, and ultimately being responsible for the end-to-end success of the set of deliverables.
