About The Position

Oliver Wyman is seeking an Operations Supply Chain – Engagement Manager to join their Operations practice. This role focuses on helping clients across industries manage and optimize their operations by improving cost efficiency, reducing supply chain risk, and optimizing their footprint. The practice develops innovative solutions to enhance supply chain performance and results, supporting clients end-to-end from input material sourcing to production, distribution, and services. They partner with businesses globally to ensure their supply chain produces the best value and competitiveness. Projects typically begin with strategic questions, but extend beyond presentations, focusing on building client capabilities and upskilling workforces for independent collaboration and agility. The practice utilizes a broad supply chain management toolkit, including AI-driven tools like a machine learning-based forecasting platform, combined with deep project expertise and proven methods.

Requirements

Operations experience in discreet or continuous manufacturing industries.
Experience across the operations spectrum: product development, planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, distribution (depth in any of these is desired).
Experience in leading or being part of improvement efforts in the operations space.
Strong curiosity and continuous learning mentality.
Strong problem structuring and analytical skills.
Critical thinking and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently under ambiguity and lead others to navigate through ambiguity and uncertainty.
Refined written communication and oral presentation skills.
Experience with proposal development, strong commercial instincts, and interest.
4-7+ years of consulting experience in operations (in the industry and/or with consulting firms).
6-8+ years of consulting experience for Principal level.
Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required for U.S. office locations. Oliver Wyman does not offer sponsorship for this position. CPT and OPT are restricted forms of work authorization.

Nice To Haves

Experience in tools/systems for supply chain optimization and IT-enablement preferred.
Certifications: Strong preference for Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP), American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS / ISCM) OR Institute for Supply Management (ISM).
Experience with a top-tier management consulting firm preferred.

Responsibilities

Managing the execution of individual project workstreams, including developing hypotheses, managing data collection, model creation, analyses, guiding research, tackling information limitations, and surfacing insights.
Synthesizing findings and insights from interviews, client working sessions, and research into written presentations; reviewing and discussing with clients and other stakeholders.
Supporting the Partner group in project delivery through accurate and high-quality execution.
Managing a team of 2-4 consultants on a daily basis to ensure effective and efficient task delivery.
For Principal level: managing multiple workstreams with a team of 6-8 consultants and directly managing mid-senior level clients (e.g., VP of operations or above).
For Principal level: effectively developing proposals and actively leading/participating in business development efforts and pitching processes.
